Sawdust Bridge Construction
As the 1989 wooden Sawdust Bridge at the Don River had reached the end of its life, Devonport City Council replaced it with a new and improved version. Watch in the video as the new bridge - which was fabricated off-site - is airlifted into place by Tasmanian Helicopters.

More than 160km of optical fibre ground wire has been strung between Sheffield,George Town and Palmerston in Tasmania. The project team also installed 21,000 steel members and erected 379 new earth peaks in order to provide a safe, reliable and secure electricity transmission system to the area.
